Business Drivers

Unconventional Oil and Gas (e.g. shale, tight oil, oil sands, coal and gas conversion) retain many of the business drivers of traditional methods of Oil and Gas but they have some specific considerations

· Nimbleness and the need to re-deploy infrastructure – Pop up operations

· Often onshore with the need for active public relations.

· Strong environmental management focus particularly around waste water for unconventionals.

· Management of logistics to and from the site and collaboration with the supply chain from the site. Below we see an example of a fracking site.

Business model (业务模式)

Unconventionals have the same essential broad life cycle as conventionals (exploration, appraisal, development planning, execution, production and abandonment). There are some specific focus areas to consider in terms of the business operations model:

· production operations run in parallel with well operation activities.

· Focus on management of the water resources in an environmentally responsible manner.

· reuse of infrastructure from one site to the next e.g. drilling equipment.

· use of logistics rather than just fixed pipeline infrastructure to move product to the customer.

· environmental management in tune with regulations and public relations. Including initial flare testing and ground water monitoring.

· increased opportunity for automation and low manned operations.

· operations tend to adopt an asset-based operations approach with a nimble mode of operation. Industry standards rather than proprietary standards tend to be adopted.

· Support for rapid decisions and continuous improvement through factory-style drilling and operations. A need that aligns well with Industry 4.0 concepts and InfoQuick capabilities.

· Use of different drilling and wells equipment e.g. frac related or water containment facilities.

· Manage fracking fluid inventory and logistics.

非常规油气田与常规型有同样的生命周期原则(勘探、评估、制定计划、执行、生产、弃置),但仍然有需要特备关注的具体环节:

There are some key notes in terms of how InfoQuick 
DT-WAN can be supportive of unconventional operators and their attempts to adopt Industry 4.0 principles:

· IIoT can be used to drive proactive intervention rather than relying on arbitrary time or usage intervention. In addition to reducing equipment servicing costs, this contributes to equipment longevity and further improves production uptime. InfoQuick can provide connectivity and cloud capabilities to deploy the necessary sensor monitoring, big data and analytics solutions for a large quantity of unconventional production sites. These solutions can be packaged, standardised and deployed as part of the site set up or retrofitted as needed.

· Considerable amounts of Big data are being generated during the development and operation of unconventional reservoirs. From these analytics solutions operations can help review asset performance against top quartile.

· Logistics applications can be deployed across a broad geographical area on a global scale using InfoQuick SD-WAN and cloud capabilities. These will help with smooth production and delivery to market of product.

非常规作业的关键点:
